In the Morning
In the morning, the start of a new day. We focus on the list of things to do. We listen for the voices in the house just to see if anyone else is stirring around. When we realize it's just us, everyone else is still in a slumber; we find ourselves ready to rise and enjoy the moment. Planning and anticipating, seldom taking a moment to just breathe. Take it all in. Hear the cracks in the making of any movement, listen to the beating of our own heart.
What do you hear, air conditioner units clicking on and off, the paws of the
dog as he walks across the floor; wise enough to know that it's still quiet time. Serving the moment to just be still, not wanting to awaken the movements of anything else just yet. Communing with the Father, seeking peace that is promised, holding fast to the air that we breathe.
Slow down, take a deep breath. Rest in his presence. Let the sensation of blood flow place you in tune with your very being. Relax in the moment by just embracing the smallest amount of time. This sets the rest of the day. Time does not restart, this exact moment will never be here again. This exact hour, day or second has already passed. We move into future. So why do we keep looking back, it's already the past coexisting in our present.
Move forward. It's morning.
